Unit: All About Me

“All About Me”

Homework Task

This week we are working on our “All About Me” unit. You and your child have a fun homework assignment to complete as a family!
Who: The Family

What: Three homework assignments.

1)   Each family will work together to decorate the blank person I have sent home to look like your child.   Any kinds of materials may be used. For example: crayons, markers, paint, rice, noodles, string, yarn, etc. Use your imaginations and be creative. The only rule is that it looks like your child.

2)  Collection of Family photographs!  Please include photos of your child’s family members, pets, home, any special events along with photos of your child from birth to his/her current age!  (Photo’s will be returned at the end of our school year.)

3)  Keepsakes & Treasures!  Please send any personal awards, ribbons, trinkets, anything that is special to your child and he/she is proud of!

When: This homework assignment needs to be returned by the 3rd week in September.

Where:  As soon as they are returned, they will be displayed on the back wall of your child’s cubby!

I am very excited and look forward to seeing the family photographs, your child’s favorite treasures, and the “special” person that you and your family will design!

Picnic Pals

Dear Families,

I am excited to announce our newest addition to our preschool program called Picnic Pals!

Every other Wednesday beginning on September 28th, your child will bring a packed lunch from home and enjoy a fun-filled extended lunch time at Washington Park (during inclement weather we will eat lunch on a picnic blanket indoors).  This provides a wonderful opportunity for you to talk to your child about healthy, nutritious foods.

When packing lunches, please have your child help you choose which foods to add to his/her lunch box.  For a balanced meal, it’s important to choose foods from all four food groups including a drink.

You are welcome to send an additional treat to be shared with your children’s friends!

Miss

One morning, ...

One morning, a grandmother was surprised to find that her 7-year-old grandson had made her coffee. Smiling, she choked down the worst cup of her life. When she finished, she found 3 little green army men at the bottom. Puzzled, she asked "Honey, what are these army men doing in my coffee?" Her grandson answered, Like it says on tv, grandma. "The best part of waking up is soldiers in your cup."
